“A Hands-On Functional Training Session & Foam Roller Stretching”

Applied Functional Training for Female Cyclists: Core Conditioning in Conjunction with Aerobic Exercise and Proper Nutrition

Whether you just purchased your first bike, spin at your health club, are an endurance recreational athlete, or are an elite competitor, this clinic will help you reach your goals.  Designed to be an actual training session with plenty of opportunities for class participation, we will practice proper form and educate you on how to approach off-season winter training.

As women, we are typically looking to tone our bodies, reduce fat, weigh less, or perform better in our sport.  This is where strength training comes in.  Integrating strength training into our programs is essential to obtain any of these goals.  Did you know that we have over 660 muscles in our bodies?  Training and developing these muscles gives us the ability to produce more force (power), increases our speed and agility, and fuels the metabolic fire that allows our bodies to burn more calories at rest.  By training functionally, we will utilize all of your muscles by using your full range of motion to train rather than just a fraction of it which improves not only cycling performance but also reduces the risk of injury.  The clinic will conclude with foam roller stretching techniques that will sooth your muscles and prepare you for your next workout.

Join us to learn how combining aerobic exercise, proper food intake, and functional strength training to reduce fat and build more lean muscle will leave our bodies fit, toned, and feeling great!  Please come dressed in workout clothes and tennis/running shoes, ready to ask questions and increase you knowledge.

The clinic will be led by Jackie Ballinger, owner of Physically Focused, specializing in comprehensive fitness and wellness, VO2 Peak testing, Blood Lactate Threshold, personal fitness training, nutrition, and much more.
